We begin our seventh year with the theme,
"A world of abundance begins with sharing". Let’s look at this from
a Pagan Pride perspective.
The history of the Pagan Pride Project Inc., began with
a two-fold dream. One was to build awareness and acceptance of Paganism
and two, for Pagans to celebrate and share their abundance - not only among
themselves - but with others who were in need.
In this way, our Pagan celebration melds a charity drive,
honoring the Gods for our year's blessings (the equinox festival), during
the time of the autumn harvest.
This year, we’ve decided to celebrate our roots, so to speak,
by focusing on the idea of "abundant giving", rather than just having "abundance".
It’s all about giving back to the community at large - in education and effort –
for both Pagan and non-Pagans alike.
That's what Chicago Pagan Pride 2008 is - sharing our knowledge,
our skills, and our talents - and adding the essential elements of giving back through our
charity drives and sacred ritual. When we give to help others eat, keep animals safe,
and house women and children sheltered from fear – it’s “our way” of circulating and sharing
the healing energy for our Mother Earth.
