CHARITIES ~ 2010
This year's event raised almost 600 lbs of food which was donated to Southwest Chicago PADS! ~ Thank you all for your generosity!
Southwest Chicago Pads
For 15 years, Sister Therese DelGenio has been responding to the needs of the homeless in the neighborhood with food, shelter, showers, clothing, and ongoing assistance with life skills.No Where to Turn Sister Therese was instrumental in creating the Southwest Chicago Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) in 1993. PADS, an ecumenical and community endeavor which valued the dignity, uniqueness, goodness, and giftedness of all persons, assists people with moving from homelessness to stable employment and housing.
We also raised $189 for Connections for abused women and their Children this year.
Connections for Abused Women and their Children
Donations for pet shelters will be donated to the South Suburban Humane Society Spay and Neutering Clinic.
The South Suburban Humane Society has set up a separate spay and neutering clinic to help pet owners defer the cost of spaying and neutering, shots and other vetinary needs.
They even provide pick up and drop off services in some areas. They offer discounts to all and offer deeper discounts to those on fixed incomes.
